When the children became older, Husband and I decided to have a mobile phone.
So when the children need us or have a question, they can call Husband or me.
But this turned out to be a bit wrong....
I'm at my work.
My mobile phone rings.
I pick up the phone and say 'Hello'
It's Nona (daughter) 'Hi mom''.
I said 'Hi, what's wrong why are you calling?'
She's quiet, but I know she's there.
'Hello?' and I'm loosing my patience now 'What is wrong!?'
She says 'No, nothing is wrong, but I need to run to the attic and I just want to talk to you when I'm going'.
I'm at my work.
The phone rings.
I pick up the phone and say 'Hello'.
Sinyo (sun) 'Hi, Mom.'
"Can I make a cup a soup?"
Well, I know I had taken a mobile phone to be available for the kids, but not for this kind of things.
* Sigh *

Why?
I ask you; 'Why do teenagers have so much hormones in them?
Not much is good.
Everything you ask is tooo much. (Way to much).
They argue about everything. (I don't know why, because they do it anyway)
I gues nobody knows, why.

My romantic husband
He had a beer or two,
and isn't it so that when man are drunk they speak the truth?
He sings sweat songs in my ear and kisses my nose,
He declares his eternal love to me,
He gently strokes my back and kisses me in my neck,
Holds me close and kisses me passionately,
He looks naughty at me and unbuttons my blouse,
He kneels in front of me and sings a serenade
I believe I'm going to have great sex,
Partly undressed, I lay on my back on our bed...
and hold my breath,
Husband threw himself beside me, I close my eyes and wait for what is going to com..
He lies motionless.... quit..... I hear a snore.............
I have no sex tonight .....
He will have a headache tomorrow...
and isn't it so that when man are drunk they speak the truth?

Glee!
Since last week Glee is also here on the tv!
I have to admit, I LOVE IT!!
I just saw the first 4 episodes but yes I'll follow it from now on.
We just saw the Kurt-Beyonce -> Single ladies dance.
Really had me laughing. Also later in the show, when he tells his father he's gay and his father responds with the line:
The songs, the dance and most of all the one liners of Sue!
Yes, loving it!
Now I understand why people in Amerika love it.
You know what I like most of all...
Yes! We are both sitting on the couch and laugh and talk about everybody that is in the serie.

Long time, no write
It has been tooo long since my last post, but from now on I'll be back :).
So, time is running here. The kids are back to school and husband and I are both working again.
Last night we finally had an evening out. We had to wait for the babysitter (Yes, we know we have teens, but still too young to stay home alone in the evening) and we went.
Here in ouw town we have an all you can eat Japanese restaurant. Everybody was telling us how great the food is and the people. They are going on and on and on!
Well we wen't and I have to say, the food was good, but it was soooo noisy! It seemed that every little bit off noise crashed at the wall of the restaurant and returned. So, it wasn't a romantic diner anymore and we left very quickly! No, we didn't go home. The weather was beautiful so we went to another restaurant and sat on the terrace.

WorldCup 2010
Here in Holland everybody is nervous about the game that is jet to come.
Tonight at 20:30 (our time) The Netherlands are going to play against Uruguay. The papers are full of it and everybody is expecting that we are winning.
Last week when the played against Brasil my son was a nervous wrek. The first 45 minutes he jump up and down, walked to the kitchen and back and sometime's closed his eyes... So you can understand that tonight it will be the same.
Our garden is full with orange flags and our street is too.
I have to admit that I like the mood that everybody is in. Decorating there house, street and garden.
Here is a picture of The EK in 2008, so it will give you an idea..

Changes
I changed a couple things, because I just had to.
I didn't write for a while, because I was busy with other things.
Luckely for me there wasn't a lot to do to change to an other blog, I just exported and imported it.
Now it's time to talk again to the world.

New ages.
A new year!
I was thinking what wil happen this year.
My son wil turn 14 years old!
My daughter wil turn 13 years old!
I'm going over 40!
My husband is still nog going to be 40!
We will live in this house for four years!
Well if I just think off my kids, they are getting so old! Sometimes I wonder where that little boy is who hardly smiled. It's just unbelieveble that everything is going so fast.
The days, weeks, months, years everything is racing by and the only thing I can do is help, learn, participate and watch it go by.

Almost 2010
For us it's just 27 minutes and the new year will begin.
All day you hear firework everywhere and when you go outside there is a lot to see in the sky.
In Holland we are allowed to set off firework on last day of the year from 10:00 in the morning till 02:00 in the night.
So you can imagine that everybody who wants to set off firework is having a ball.
It's not like this in every country, can you tell me how it is in your county?

Winter Wonderland
It is snowing in the place where we live. Jahooeee!!
I love snow!
Yesterday it was al over the news that snow was going to come.
We looked at the sky and thought, where is it.
Nothing happened, no snow, not even a resembles of something that looks like snow. Our first thought was that they made a mistake, or that it would come but much, much later.
So we went to bed, before we went to bed, we looked outside, but no, no snow.
But WOW , this morning the world is white. The best part is, it’s snow where you can make a snow doll (is that how you call it?) from and have snow balls fights.
I really love that!
Unfortunately we have to wait, because we have to work and the kids must go to school.
A college of mine just told me, there is more snow an the way.
So we are going to be ok!

Saint Nicolais left, Santa Claus is coming.
I have to say that if have been busy with a lot of things the last days, so I didn't have time to write.
But here I am again.
Here in Holland Saint Nicolais left for Spain this sunday. Every child is happy with the gifts and the fact that Saint Nicolais came by there house or school.
In all the stores you can buy Saint Nicolais candy with discount and everything in the store that first was reserved for Saint Nicolais is now filled with Santa Claus things.
Yes, we are going from one child feast to an other. Isn't is great!!!
Yess for the children, I can see there wishlist already.
No they didn't get anything for Saint Nicolais, it's more fun if they really believe in it. They leave there shoe at the door and sing songs to Saint Nicolais so they really hope he is coming. The children really believe that Saint Nicolais can hear them.
There is no singing for Santa Claus, no leaving your shoe at the door, so this is so differant.
Don't get me wrong, I love chrismas. The trea, the lights, the jolly good feeling.
I have to admit, I miss the fact that the children are small and believe in Saint Nicolais.

Excuse me?! Saying I'm not a good mother....
Today I was reading somewhere on the internet that a research, I think it was from England, showed that children of working mothers are not as healthy as stay at home moms childrens. (Wow, that was a long sentence).
So, I said it.
(Sorry if my English is now really bad!)
Ok, the research claims that children under the age of 5, don't eat healthy, drink a lot of sweatened soda (like cola), watch more television and are often brought by car to school.
You know what bugs me, that the research result claimt it happens with every mother.
So I have to tell people that my children are healthy and they eat also a lot of vegatables.
Yes, I´m a working mom, since the moment they where born. I just wasn´t born to be a stay at home mom, it´s just not in me.
And yes, it is possible that their are family that are just like the result of the research, but it also happens at home where the mothers are staying home.
I´m just getting a little crazy about the fact that working moms have to explain their selves.
So, I said it.
(Sorry if my English is now really bad!)

Saint Nicolais coming in too Holland

I told you a while ago about Saint Nicolais that arrived in Holland. I was trying to find a movie or something so you can see it.
I found something but it's very long about 10 min. and I know that when you don't understand the language, it's not so fun to watch.
But just for fun, watch this.
Look at the people who are waiting, the people on the ship, look at the children. It's so fun! If you don't want to wait that long, go to 3 minutes and you see a bit more.
This is really a story for children and I'm so sorry my children don't believe in it anymore.

I wish this was true?!?!?!?!

Do we have a money tree..?

Did I mention that we have Saint Nicolais and Santa Clauss in Holland..?
Did I mention that when children find out that Saint Nicolais is not the one who brings the presents but we the parents, that they don't have to expect that much?
No, wel it's true.
Did I mention that my children missed that part..?
My daughter, who is 12 year, wants to have a phone and not just a phone.. No she wants a LG cookie ore was it a LG Star, ore no she wants UGGS ore no..
Well I guess you know what I mean she wants really a lot off things .. for Saint Nicolais...
She told me that she knows she to old for Saint Nicolais, that she knows we don't do presents any more, but she just loves that phone and she really wants to have it.
So please, please, please pretty please can she have that phone (and if she can't get the phone, then maybe can she get UGGS..?).
I think you all know how those things go.
Well, that is my daughter talking, listen to what my son says.
Let me tell you first, that 2 weeks ago the xbox360 was banned from internet. So, that means he can't play with the xbox on-line. He was really cranky about that and now, I think you know what I'm about to say.
Yes, he wants to have a new xbox360, and if it is really just not possible he would settle for money.....
I have asked the kids often enough, if we have a money tree we don't know about. Unfortunately the kids also can't find it.....
The WorldWideWeb
About 10 years ago, here in Holland, not many people worked with the internet. But now I can’t imagine living without it.The internet is so integrated in everybody’s life. Even my parents are working with a computer and starting to learn more and more about Internet.
Here is a sum off all the thins I do on the internet:
· Googeling (what a word), I think I google more then 10 times a day. For my work and private. Everything I don’t know I type in too google. When of our kids have a question I know the answer too but I don’t know how to explain. I just type in the word ore the whole question and there is the right answer ore explanation.
· Following the news. Every day I go to my favorite newspaper site and read what happened in the world. Off course I look at the news on the tv, but sometimes I don’t have enough time.
· Reading blogs and articles. Finding out how the lives of people all over the world is. I love reading blogs from people from different countries. This way you can find out how people are living, ore what there house looks like, ore how the school is over there. I also read some blogs from women in Holland and it can be so different.
· Learning, yes I learn a lot from the internet. New words, new software, instructions guides everything everywhere.
· Shopping, yep, I’m one of those people who shop on the internet. I like the fact that it’s so easy to shop from a foreign country. Last year I bought make-up from America and my wedding dress came from China, yes from ebay. I love it!
· Blogging, writing in English and Dutch. Writing about different stories, themes and so much more!
I think there is more much much more to find and I haven’t discovered everything yet. Maybe that’s a good thing, because I think that would be do only thing I do!

Saint Nicholas

I have always thought that this was a celebration that you can find al over the world. But it turned out it is a feast that you can only find in Holland.
So let me tell you a something about it. Saint Nicholas is also a festivity for children, just like Santa Claus and in Holland it is called Sinterklaas. His birthday is on December 5th and every child in Holland gets a present. He is riding on a horse on the rooftop of the houses en brings presents with his helpers, they are calles Zwarte Piet, Black Piet.
But let me begin with how it al starts every year. Saint Nicholas lives in Spain with his helpers in a big castle where they store all the presents. In the beginning of Novembre he leaves Spain and comes with his steamboat to Holland.

His arrival in Holland is followed by every children in Holland, on tv or the go to a city where his boat is coming. The 'real' Saint Nicholas comes in a different haven every year. But there are also a lot of Saint Nicholas that are helping him so he comes on the same day in thousands different city's.
Every child in Holland is very happy, because they know that there is a possibility that the find presents in there shoes. Shoes?! Yes, from the moment he comes into our country children can leave there shoe at the door or on every place the want. Because Saint Nicholas is in the country and maybe he wil get on his horse and bring presents already. My children also wanted to place their shoes as soon as he was in the country.
At December 5th when they come to school then Saint Nicholas is coming to, he has a lot off helpers, Black Piet, helping him, with the presents, the exciting children and with the list of good and bad children. Because he also has a list, the children who where really bad this year have to be really nice at that point. Because if they are not, he can put them in a sack and take the children with him to Spain..
So, when school is out, the children go home and are still excited because in the evening he will come to their house or when he not coming to their house he will leave present in their shoes.
Yes, it's big event because it's not just Saint Nicholas, Black piet and the white horse. No there is also candy, off course, no matter where you are, when ever he comes, the Black Piets are throwing with different candy, it looks like this. And yes really the throwing it on the floor, so you just have to make sure you get it in your hand.Everybody will also get a chocolate letter, it can be in a letter S, from Saint Nicholas, or you own letter.
A lot off fun when the good old man, comes in to Holland most of all if you have little children. The love that man, because he gives them presents. As soon as he leaves, on december 6th he's off to Spain again, then Santa Claus is coming.
So, here is December a very expensive month.
